I'm thinking I may let the cats use it as a scratching post yet..... might be too heavy a relicAiRdAd wrote:That looks spectacular!!!!
Its turned out better than I thought, the grille cloth was soaked in yorkshire tea, strongest tea known to man, but it didn't affect it. I darkened it down with some black dye mixed with meths in the end. Just a bit.

Good work, that wear looks very natural.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

No I've got a 5E8-a twin, always thought it'd be nice or even louder to round up the experience with ye auld bassman. I started gathering up packing case grade plywood (baffle plate) and found an approximate set of plans for bassman (who knows where they are buried now). Went off the boil though... hey can't rush these things.Bg wrote:I thought you had one?calling card wrote:You know if you build it I'd buy it Just have to find a motor for it.
Then there's that laser cut chassis I did for the JMP50 clone, one of those could be populated with bassman like electrics as I'm assuming they are very similar chassis. Control panel is the same in appearance/layout.
And another option one of these perhaps; http://www.ceriatone.com/american-class ... a-bassman/
Can one ever have enough amps?
Anyway I've a shed to build. Probably need another loud amp like hole in head, still...
