Re: Marshall JTM Studio Series
Sounds good at 100dB !
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Here's one from Thomann Music that compares it to the SV20.

I like the old look and the sound, will most probably get one, I'm a sucker for M gear

Yeah same, probably wait until they land here. Can see myself changing the knobs though

I'll put a white dot on the end of each one.
They're the same as the earliest ones used on the originals, pretty mundane I know but a part of that historical look.
Doin' that scrapyard thing.

Or get a 1974. Unless you want clean headroom. Or a master volume. Or EQ.

What is the difference between a JTM and a Plexi? Controls look the same

Re: Marshall JTM Studio Series
Not sure about this one but the originals were tube rectified with kt66? They sag a lot more than a Plexi and have a lot more bass, beautiful cleans through to breakup but fall apart under higher gain settings. Plexi is tighter.blackstratblues wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 9:38 pm5881/EL34rickenbackerkid wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 9:20 pm What is the difference between a JTM and a Plexi? Controls look the same

I love both!
