Who’s got one in NZ?
Have been considering buying another amp I don’t need, thinking I might be better to look into the KEMPER Player. Looks like it’s just over 1k landed?
It'd be around 1350 landed (customs fees).

I got one. So far I'm really enjoying it!

Have you managed to work out a morph-equivalent approach using midi?

Haven't tried. Wonder if that kind of thing would be possible with a morningstar midi pedal.

Almost forgot about customs! Good info.
Any other limitations you have found with it compared to the bigger unit?

I'm not that familiar with the bigger unit so I can't really compare. I definitely think this is a great addition to a bigger system or an awesome flyrig. I'm happy to use my ears and occasionally use the phone app to do some tweaking. I'm also happy with 'clean, rhythm, lead'. Some people really need to see stuff / coloured leds / and see patch names or model names etc to feel comfortable. I find myself using less patches with this, and more riding the volume knob like a real amp.

Have you compared it to the Tone X?
I’ve currently got an HX Stomp and UA Ruby 63 but looking for the closest thing to a real amp without dragging an amp out with a load box every time I play.

I haven't tried the Tone X yet unfortunately. Are you unhappy with the HX?

I still need to do more test driving with the kemper PP and trial some fancy profiles.

Mostly happy, currently have the UA Ruby and an HX amp in stereo. Although curiosity has got me wanting to try a Kemper or Tone X. Matter of fact I did a video of it recently.

Theres probably someone more qualified to say. Kiwiaxe maybe.

But I think the kemper will be a notch above the HX. I just didn't love the HX when I tried it. Unless the software updates have improved it since then.

Well I just picked up a Tone X so I guess I’ll be able to tell you what I think in about a week.

I’m overseas at present but when I have a chance I’ll let you know my highly subjective views of Kemper Profiler vs Tonex + HX Stomp vs Kemper Player vs Helix LT as I have all.

But in a nutshell:
- Tonex could sound and feel better than Kemper especially with the HX stomp effects (I have Tonex in the loop) but the Tonex software is still total crap to the point I rarely use my tonex.
- Helix amps do not sound or feel as good as kemper. But effects are more extensive (I avoid “better” there as I think they are good in kemper and helix but it comes down to what you want; I’m not a heavy effects guy)
- Player amps sound and feel like kemper profiler. Great to play through a powered Kabinet or two. Effects would do me fine but it’s annoying having to recreate my kemper presets to address the differences and limitations in player effects. And I’m really really hoping they do morph on the player soon.

Live, I’ll probably stick to kemper profiler unless it’s a small gog where the player plus a Kabinet would do. But then id probably take my Bogner New Yorker or my Marshmallow-made dumble clone and use my bb preamp, JHS AT+ and Halo mini board.
