RE: above. Im using a filling primer and a matt textured finish so I have just roughed back the exposed areas of paint to 400 without a great deal of care.
Short of a massive take aart the board project I couldnt really get the valve sockets out, trannies fully off etc to allow a full detailing
I dont expect this bass amp to live a haerd life so 100% bomb proof finish is not required
Also it will live in a dark corner of a studio/lounge and I will tazer anyone who gets within 3 feet to scrutinize the finish

For the time being its going to live with this little 1x12 super compact cab but Id like to keep and eye out for an ampeg portaflex cab or similar

I am angry at Ashdown for not being more aesthetically minded with those preamp tube placements

Even so, looks infinitely cooler now

Next part of the project will be to make a dark stained wood base for the amp to sit on.
Will need a bit of thought about how to put mounting blocks on this so the side screw holes can be used to affix the chassis to the block
