Caps for valve junior mods

Anyone been able to find such rare beasties as 500pf and 5nf caps around?
Or any Mallory 150s?

depending on the voltage rating required, most electronic shops will have them.
Mallorys are just metallized polyester, which is the standard now a days if you buy a cap in the 5nF range it will be this type. If you insist on mallorys I think custom audio boutique has them.

dse only has lower voltage stuff. Otherwise jaycar should have something suitable.

If i was modding the VJ the first thing I would do would be bypass the 1M resistor in the signal path with a cap or remove it. When driven by a pedal you could vary this cap to get different degrees of tone, from marshall to more modern sounding.
