I hate everything I haven't tried until I try it.

I'd paid money to watch a video of you jamming on it however.

I just can't get with the telecaster shape. I am almost certainly missing out on playing some amazing guitars, but I take one look at that shape and think it must have been designed by a drunk blind man driven mad by syphilis.

Things like Silver Sky's and Shurs and so forth. Just get a Strat and be done with it.

Re EL84 - I hear ya. But, once I got the JMI everything changed. Fat juicy compressed and aggressive. The TC15 is mostly there at more manageable VolumesDarth Sabbathi wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2023 2:38 pm Vox amps - or anything EL84 really. I really, really wanted to love my AC30, but I really, really didn't.
And brand new guitars. I much prefer something with a few seasons on it.
On compressors: they have always perplexed me, but recently I've been trying to play funk, and I think I'm beginning to see the point? It is really hard to play Brick House and get it to sound consistently good... with a spanky clean sound, I find I have to concentrate so hard on my touch, it's just exhausting. Anyway, I am contemplating getting my very first compressor.

Vox type circuits have their quirks. I’ve had quite a few including most recently a Ceriatone DC30 clone. I’mGrantB wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 6:41 amRe EL84 - I hear ya. Yet to find one with the chime I want but also the fullness and tight low end I also like. It seems you sacrifice the former to get the latter. Unless they are very loud
And then it’s a bit different.

They’re not really innovative though, single and double cut guitars have been done to death, companies like Strandberg are innovators.

Big op trannies, right choice of speaker and tubes all help. I think current smaller Vox amps have focussed too much on that papery chime at the expense of everything else. Old Voxs are different from that…I think they’re responding to what people “think” a Vox should sound like.Reg18 wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 7:56 amVox type circuits have their quirks. Marshall 1974’s are tight sounding and the bass n lead (2061?)

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
