Re: What are you gassing for?
As I’m away for a few days and didn’t bring a guitar with me, a nice little parlour or 12 fretter would be just the ticket. Any recommendations? That or I’d like a J-45
Loving it so far

Re: What are you gassing for?
I played a really nice 12-fret last month, first time I ever picked up a 12-fret. It was a Taylor, with mahogany top. May have been all mahogany too. Damn it was nice! Quite zingy for a mahogany. Sorry, can't tell you the model... my cold-addled brain couldn't remember. Played an Ibanez 12-fret in Musicworks last week while waiting to be picked up. It was a worn finish thermo-whatsit wood. Damn it was bright! I think it had no mids whatsoever, if that's the right term.StratMatt wrote:As I’m away for a few days and didn’t bring a guitar with me, a nice little parlour or 12 fretter would be just the ticket. Folks around here seem to swear by the Taylor Mini though. Ever tried one of those?

Re: What are you gassing for?
Haven’t tried a Taylor guitar at all I don’t think. The mini could be the way to go... After Xmas of course, I’ve used up all my good boy points for a little while yet!codedog wrote:I played a really nice 12-fret last month, first time I ever picked up a 12-fret. Boss Fuzz pedal. I'll have to have a look at some reviews. I've never been a fuzz fan - but I used someone's gear last week and the Boss Fuzz was really good. If anyone has one not being used, or to trade for something I have for sale let me know.
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

The FZ-2? I don't think the new FZ-5 is as good, theres a Behringer alternative if you don't mind the plasticDelayman wrote:Boss Fuzz pedal. I'll have to have a look at some reviews. Re: What are you gassing for?
No it was the FZ-5 I'm pretty sure. It was a crowded soundscape (jamming along to full tracks) and may not have been as good as I thought (it was a work do). I just really enjoyed the sustain and easy controllable feedback.jeremyb wrote:The FZ-2? Might have to take you up on the Ashton in the new year if it’s still around. Decent player?GrantB wrote:I have a Maton mini 12 string. Sounds good. 1400$. I also have an ashton mini with solid top....sounds better! $340
