Was umming and ahhing over dinner last night, but pulled the trigger on this 2014 Gibson Les Paul Traditional in Honeyburst...

It's one of the 120th Anniversary editions and based around the 1959 LP; supposedly the '59 Tribute Humbuckers are meant to be excellent, has a chunky 50's style neck and it's non weight relieved. If online reviews/praise are anything to go by I should have found a good one

I've played a few 120th Traditionals and despite the bad reputation of the '14s, they were all superb. The pickups are not dissimilar from the Custom Buckers in the R9s, so they're also pretty decent.

bought a second hand iPad. I used to have one which i broke, and it was actually an extremely useful device for music. Lyrics, setlists, charts, mixer control, all that stuff. So a nice wee slightly belated fathers days present from me to me.

What was the bad rep for the 2014s? I'm thinking about picking one of these up when I'm in Japan.

From memory the only quibble with the 2014s was nobody liked the 120th inlay? And then the 2015s came out and suddenly the inlay was no longer a big deal...

Yeah, think that seems to be the case. I like the notion of the E-Tune but it looks absolutely hideous - so thankfully my incoming one doesn't have it. Can't say the inlay really bothers me TBH :)
