LOL.

I'm convinced his strategy was to piss me off and obstruct me as much as he could so I'd just walk away.

Anyway, f'k it. Cab's here at home now. Was worth the three hour, 200k round trip.

Flaky Internet here tonight. Must've been on the Paddy Day sauce.

I stand in awe of your determination and commitment.

Still hate you but.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Was almost exactly 100k door to door. Name's legit. Already had no time for land agents so yesterday's experience didn't help.

What's the number on the cones of those Vox Blues ? The reason I ask is when Celestion started making them for Vox in China they used the wrong cones for a while. They should be H1777. The ones with the wrong cones sound quite different, I had one of those cabs and sent it back to the shop when I realised why it sounded so bright and chalky.

Starting with the Custom Classic Series, Vox Labeled Alnico Blues are made in China. For the CC series, they used the wrong cones, and than switched to the correct cones when the HW/Custom series came out. Prior to the custom classic series, Vox branded Alnico blues were still made in the UK.

Nothing wrong with the Chinese blue, it was made in China to save shipping them from the Celestion UK factory to the Chinese Vox factory.

Celestion branded blues are still made in the UK today.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

My ac15 is an old custom classic with a blue and I guess must have the wrong cone. I've played all our gigs with it, recorded with it and generally flogged it. Couldn't want for any better sound or response from that speaker. If that's wrong, I'll take wrong all day. Thank you sir

I think the general consensus is the Chinese 'wrong' cones sounded brittle and sharp...until they broke in, then they sounded great. Different materials used so you didn't get that immediate 'Celestion blue' tone from new. I had an older Vox Chinese blue (07) and thought it sounded fantastic but it came into my possession after it had 6 years or so on the clock.

Yeah, I had a UK blue next to that one null_pointer used to own in an AC30

They were so slightly different that it's not worth quibbling about - the Chinese one had more upper mids which was like having a bit more sizzle going on.

However, when I sold that AC30 it had 2x UK blues in it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know you shouldn't judge books by covers, but holy shit...,

Also for the price, you sort of have to now.

That's cheap, eh!

Just watched this demo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fNQZmQl_0k Actually nothing there I don't already have covered but it would be a cool thing. Preferred the AC15 based on that demo. Not buying it though. :-)
