if its anything like the ring mods I've built/tried in the past - you will be sorely dissapointed by the sonic limitation of a guitar that sounds vaguely like a Dalek.

Aha! that looks very like one of the Dan Armstrong series of boxes produced back in the late 70's/early 80's - with names like Orange Squeezer etc. Never tried them out myself or even saw one in the stores so no idea of the quality etc.
