Ernie Ball have seemingly decided to go down the 'solution in search of a problem' route:

over 8 million possible combinations WTF? (why the fuck?)
and how the hell are you supposed to remember what setting you used for each song? (i have enough trouble remembering which pedal i use for each song )

Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.

In other news, Epiphone shock no-one by releasing: new Zakk Wylde signature models. The Custom Plus. None of which stops this epic fanboy from wanting one...

With the active EMGs and an ebony fretboard on the classic bullseye (maple on the camo by the looks). Wonder what the pricing will be like?

I gotta say, over the last few years Deans Rusty Cooley models have totally changed my opinion of them as a company/brand.
The white RC model the RS currently stocks is beautiful, best neck I've felt on a 7 string for ages. That fanned 8 string model looks awesome!

Yeah they have one of the Rusty Cooley 7 strings here in the Chch store too. Had a play on that a while ago. Damn impressive guitar. Neck is way thinner than my Universe neck too.
Ummm....

Re: Matt's 2011 official NAMM thread
I wonder if Gibson have produced a wonderfully abstract new take on the Explorer especially for NAMM?
I am wondering where amp modelling is going. AxeFX etc seem to have taken the current technology to it's upper limits. I wonder what company will step up to take it to the next level.

slash-ed wrote:Yup, I really liked that custom, heaps better than this one looks. I think the similar spec is his "Fuck you" to Ibanez - I read a post of his on the net about why he left Ibanez for Jackson, he said that he had been pushing for his custom to be made a production model, which they refused, and then promptly started making similarly spec-ed ones for the J-Customs...Andy_Chandler wrote:Apart from the body shape that guitar is identical to one of his Ibanez customs. Reeeeeally not keen on that jackson shape, looks like it has been melting!
This isn't entirely true, I had a play on his white custom RGA before no sleep till Auckland when they played here. That LACS custom was going to be his signature model, it had just been sent here from Japan where they had been taking down all the specs, and measurements etc to produce it. Looking at Chris's site it appears a one off got out somewhere with his name attached to it, and I don't think he was aware. He wanted a signature 7 string, but together they ended up working on his signature 6. So when that random 7 popped up, he wasn't too happy.
"That is quite disappointing to me on Ibanez's behalf since it seems to have some similarities to what I have wanted them to release as a sig. The one saving grace is I am very particular about how the guitar plays and have no doubt that that was not taken into consideration for this guitar.
Take care, Chris."
Tis a shame, I got some photos playing his white RGA before it got dropped off to him

That modulated delay sounds so schweet! (Round the 13min mark)kramer wrote:Saw this last night !!! looks so good !benderissimo wrote:robnobcorncob wrote:New T.C Electronic 'Flashback' delay. I wonder how much it costs.... *edit* $169 USD apparently.

EDIT - same price as the Nova Repeater. Which would you get? I've been keen on a Repeater for a while, but this looks like a good alternative. I really like the Reverse delay sound that the Repeater does, but that modulated sound I mentioned above seems to be really close to that. Hmm.
