Matt's 2011 official NAMM thread
OK, so some of you will remember my 2010 attempts to post NAMM porn and that my iPhone freaked out, lost my photos and it made for a decidedly photoless thread....
Well dammit, I'm trying again!!! Armed with new iPhone, seemingly reliable MacBook and a liver ready for action, I'm heading off to NAMM tomorrow with the full intention to give the NZG loyal all the updates as I see them.
I promise I'll do my best, however previous years would give me the foresight to add some caveats...
1) I have a buttload of meetings to attend. I won't have as much time to spend just wandering around the show taking photos as some of you may like.
2) The amount of time I will spend at parties/business schmoozes/concerts/hotel bars and generally in an unfit state, will severely limit my time and ability to upload photos and post intelligent responses. I'll do my best, but you'd do well to not expect a lot
3) I am predicating this whole project on an unreasonable and unprecendented assumption that all technology will work as designed and/or requested.
But do I pledge to all of you (the NZG faithful) that I will do the best that time, technology and functioning liver allows. I have set up a Flickr account to keep everything on. Just for shits and giggles, I'm currently uploading a bunch of my own gear pics. Check it out here...

And that's about it. Leaving tomorrow night. Updates from Wednesday (LA time). Talk to ya then....

I see you've opted for a G system, how have you found it? Been thinking about one myself, would go great with an MI Audio Revelation head I reckon...

If you manage to get anywhere near either the Avid or Fairlight stands I'd love to see some pics of them. Particularly any new consoles they have on offer (Fairlight EVO looks pretty slick).

Meh it's OK. Reverbs and Delays are second to none. Chorus/Pitch Shifting is OK. Other effects are reasonably average. It's a nice integrated solution though.sambrowne wrote:I see you've opted for a G system, how have you found it? It hasn't changed my life - I keep considering going back to stompboxes/GigRig.

Sorry dude, you're talking to the wrong guy. I'm all about the guitar stuff.... I will spend little to no time in the studio-y area of the show...benderissimo wrote:If you manage to get anywhere near either the Avid or Fairlight stands I'd love to see some pics of them.
