Just up the hill a little from Western Springs.
That would be cool - great opportunity to test a JMI Vox, Reissue and a somewhat clone.

I'll probably come along with a guitar and a Zoom modeller to see how it compares to the real thing(s). I'll see if MW will let me bring something interesting from the Peavey stock, but I don't like the chances!

Sadly no. My nephew is turning 1, so I'll be over with the family from about 1:00. I'll be in Grey Lynn though (ok - Arch Hill if you want to be precious about it :P ), so I'll probably be able to hear you guys - especially Polar Bear's AC30, by the sound of it ;)

have fun 8)

Hey Phillip I'd love to hear that LP jr. I have not heard from my tech on if the Vox is fixed yet, so I might just get it off him and try to clean the tube slots as you suggusted.

If anyone has a suitable laptop recording setup, that might be a useful and informative thing to have on hand while people try out the various fancy gear. Soundclips make it easy to hear the real differences in a controlled manner.

If you can - have a blind competition - I've done it in the past and its fun - especially if the booze is there also...

one guitarist - all the amps - everyone else behind a curtain, in the next room, or just looking t'other way. Have a sheet of paper each and get the guitarist to play the same riffs through all the amps at random. See if anyone can name all the amps in the correct order. If in the same room, place them as close as possible together so people can't memorise which one is which by batlocation.

If anyone can - I hear Lois Lane is looking for a partner now that Superman's died...
He hit a chord that rocked the spinet and disappeared into the infinite ...

I could setup my laptop to do it. I could put Nuendo or Cakewalk or whatever on it if thats suitable.

as long as there is a desk or mixer I can take audio from. don't know wether it would be good enough quality

trying to sort out if I can make it though.
AFK.
