Best place in Auckland for secondhand amps?
Hi,
Hope this is the appropriate board... I have asked google this question in a few ways, but not found any good answer.
About 20 years ago I got a Peavey 212 Chorus from a place on Queen St that had rows of second hand amps stacked high.
The 212 is still awesome, but it's time for a new amp, and that place isn't there anymore...
Can anyone recommend somewhere which stocks a lot of secondhand amps? Does any such place exist anymore?
Thanks!

Best place in Auckland for secondhand amps?
Cash converters etc occasionally have some. But they are usually not very good.
Trademe has sort of killed off the second hand shop market.
You'd most likely be better off just browsing trademe.

Without knowing price range, type, I'd say AmpShop too.

Not a lot of 2nd hand stuff in stock here
As sopacharga said above, TradeMe has really become the 2nd hand store now.

Thanks everyone, I suspected as much, but thought it worth asking at least.AmpShop wrote:TradeMe has really become the 2nd hand store now.
It's a case of technology making things worse in my opinion.
TradeMe is great for buying some second hand books or new cupboard handles, but I'm not so keen on bidding on an amp having never heard it.
I guess it would be possible to ask a question and get the sellers details ( against TradeMe TOS? ) and then go ( probably other side of auckland ) to try it out, but that's really not the same as sitting in a shop plugging in and comparing.

Haha 3 years later still scouring the cash converters for "the one". Molly, are you just getting to the end of your 'unread threads' list?Molly wrote:Did you get sorted on this or are you still looking...JHorner wrote:Hi,

They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

All sorted
I bought 4 peavey bandits, and an extension cab or 3.
much easier than a 212 and I can leave them around. 2 here, 2 there, just take one if I'm going somewhere else.
