About to go into a meeting so can't watch. Can someone summarise the difference for me to read when I come out?jeremyb wrote:Helix LT has been released! Seems to be $999 US, compared to the full Helix at $1499 so will probably end up here a smidge under $2k...

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
To be honest, at $2k it's still too expensive for me, the HD500X and the Pangaea sounds so great (IMHO....) that it'd be silly to upgrade

It's a shame it wasn't around the $1500 mark nz dollars...
That would of hooked me in I think, still very nice though.

I got sucked into buying every generation of POD and then hating them. I would always think L6 would sort out the things i did not like, but then be disappointed. I wanted to like them because they are so convenient. L6's idea of good tone is not same as mine it seems. Passing on Helix.

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
$2000 (which I paid for mine) is not all that much above the magical 60% of RRP. Which is the point I was trying to make, assuming these Lite version are $2000, why wouldn't you just buy a secondhand full kit and kaboodle? Maybe they won't be $2000 though, and Mr Rockshop will have to dine on Bunnings sausage sizzle for a while...

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
Just tried version 4 for the first time. Result? I have dumped Guitar Rig 5. Miss a few things from guitar rig like plate reverb and treble booster etc, but the tone is definitely more realistic and can be quite sweet. Maybe i have just not found them in this program yet. Better USB interface and I would not have needed to buy an amp.dayl wrote:Meanwhile Amplitube has been making major leaps.

Re: Line6 Heeeeeelix!
yep amplitube is excellent, I still prefer bias amp for modelling and bias fx. They're all getting better exponentially.
