Strymon - new products

Post by KentNZ »

So... checking out the new website today - it seems Strymon are about to launch three new products...

A Eurorack 'generalissimo'

And two (!) power supplies... Zuma and Ojai

Always ones to come up with weird and wonderful names.

Will be curious about the power supplies... considering their pedals have been at the forefront of the "man my power supply hasn't got the guts' issues of people world over...

No images or anything yet, but the product categories show what they're going to be.
Larrivee 00 Acoustic. FAV Strat for electric. Ibanez SDGR5 for bass. Push for Ableton. When not doing that, 3D CAD for tunnels...

The pedal power thing is mental. How many power supplies does the world need?

When you're looking for unusual combinations of voltage, or high current, there's actually not that many out there. At least, you could end up with two smaller ones, but thats kind-of not the point.

And hey, there's got to be a bit of money in it - I mean, Voodoo labs and $300 just for power!? Why not jump on that bandwagon - and with Strymon junkies, brand/styling to match - am sure they'll shift a boatload.

And when you consider that almost every board has [or needs] a decent power supply that's a big market.

More TS-9 and Fuzz Face clones, now that's exactly what we don't need.
Nothing to see here.

That little one is a monster. Expandable, which is a new trick.

The high mA outputs are cool, but yet another PS with no 15V tap for the Radial Tonebone range. Gah.
Nothing to see here.

yeah they look the part and the specs are impressive but i am guessing the pricing will be way up there. until i know the pricing this is simply speculation but i just dont see how getting one of the Zuma's for example would be better than picking up a Cioks CIOKOLATE or DC-10 or even a True-Tone CS-12 or even TWO of said power supplies for the likely price of one Zuma.....

The huge current on EVERY tap is going to be the key selling point.
I know that most of my pedalboard conundrums have not come from different voltages but having insufficient current.

Cool to see you can daisy chain the Zuma off the Ojai too

That being said, I don't see myself getting rid of my DC10
