DIG vs Timeline dilemma
So I'm still looking for a 2nd hand Timeline.
But i may be buying a Dig.
Has anyone here tried the Strymon DIG delay?
i'd hate to buy the delay to find out I still need to buy a simple delay as well like a Carbon copy etc.
Also price comes into play.
I'm looking around $400-450 for a DIG
+ 120-160 for a Carbon Copy
so lets say $600-650.
buying a Strymon Timeline from Andertons will land for around the $550-650 mark anway.
I guess with the Timeline there's the bonus of having presets. So switching delays is just a button push, although it has A LOT more than i'll use.
But with the DIG it's 1 delay and involves turning knobs during songs etc.
Opinions??

Re: DIG vs Timeline dilemma
Haven't played the DIG so my opinion is somewhat one sided. I'd wait for a Timeline, I haven't even been tempted by another delay pedal since getting mine a couple of years ago.
If I was going to get a single basic delay pedal with out all the presets etc and had up to $500 to spend I'd get a ML Junior or an El Cap

In the opinion of many, the BOSS DD-500 is a superior delay to the Strymon Timeline.
It really does kick massive amounts of serious ass. And the "Vintage Digital" modes are frikken fantastic!

I've heard this from someone else too..handsoffmatt wrote:In the opinion of many, the BOSS DD-500 is a superior delay to the Strymon Timeline.

I might have to look into it as an option as timelines don't often come up

Re: DIG vs Timeline dilemma
Yeah I tried a DD500 and thought it was very good too! It has more tweak ability than the timeline, but it wasn't enough to give me any real GAS. Would be well worth the price though!

Hey Si, just looking at your sums there, and unless you have an under the table deal with Andertons, it's cheaper to buy in NZ.SimpleSi wrote:So I'm still looking for a 2nd hand Timeline.

GBP379 is $688.94 plus shipping of $15.99 and GST is $825.70. That's not including any fees upon entry.

Re: DIG vs Timeline dilemma
what Matt said - it's cheaper from andertons.
Best price i can get here new is $750 - I've asked around.
I'm gonna look at the DD-500 it's about $150-200 cheaper and does pretty much all I require.
Bob at Hamilton RS is putting one aside for me to try hopefully this weekend.

Echolution Deluxe is rated!
Also your Strymon price from Andertons?
331.82 pounds shipped
NZ$624 @ NZD/GBP 0.53 (Generous fx)
NZ$93 GST
NZ$49 processing
Total is NZ$767 by my calcs. I'd take the $750 offer and get a warranty and NZ consumer protection!
(Or I'd buy my Echolution for near half that )
