Anyone tried a Stetsbar?

Post by Bg »

In the interest of all my guitars being non fixed bridge, am contemplating a purchase, they seem to be a great solution. Saw Snowy White had one on his Goldtop on the Wall tour. Apart from cost, any cons? Anyone shifting one?

Maybe I should just route the LP and Ash for floyds and have done with it.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

its like a proper whammy bar for a les paul, etc. they do them for teles etc too, but I'd just hack into a tele with a chisel...

so yeah it'll do proper octave down/up without losing tune. Liking the calliper but its really just for the odd wobbly when I can't be arsed to wobble my fingers....

No great fan of wanging levers but the Dusenberg thingy on Ben's Gretsch is the best I have ever wobbled.
Would consider using.

yeah, if you don't wang much, the old bigsby style is satisfying I'm sure. The one in the 339 is great for slight wobbles.

I can live without one on my LP, I can cover most ground with the PRS SE anyway and its got a trem on it that is almost as good as a floyd.
But then I'm not playing my LP, then I think oh I could sell the LP and buy a toaster or a ticket to the UK or something.

Basically I just need to stop grasping at whammys and go back to straws.

strings flapping on the fretboard is NOT a STUPID THING

geeze

;)
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

I own a stetson - the second best part of living in Mexico (first being the food) was that it was perfectly acceptable to rock the stetson every day everywhere.

As for the answer to your question BG, no I've not tried one. However I do have a B7 & vibromate in the drawer, when I eventually get either a 335 or a Casino I will be fitting them. Until then, you are welcome to borrow both to at least stop you grabbing empty air...

ah its ok, its not really b7 levels of wham I want on the LP, more the 2 post variety ;) I may get a stetsbar in future - when I'm not on Hamo levels of disposable income ;)

Cheers for the offer!
