Delay & Reverb pedal with midi control
Chaps,
I'm wanting to maximise my ES-5 options and just use the loops for the analog non DSP stuff.
What options have you come across?
I'm thinking something in the vein of the Boss DD500 or Eventide H9. Any extra modulation is nice but not essential. A proper DIN socket would be cool too. I like the idea of the TC Nova system but it's the size of a bread bin. Something that i could stick on a board. Cheers.

Re: Delay & Reverb pedal with midi control
Highly recommend the H9. Reverb, delays, all types of modulation and much more. Full midi control.
I have 2 of them. 1 may be surplus to my requirements...

Re: Delay & Reverb pedal with midi control
The Nova system is really nice, I picked one up recently for $300, and it covers a lot of bases, especially because it also adds in programmable analog overdrive too. It is a big bugger, but then it might be all you need?
The Neunaber Slate and midi controller might also work for you, thats the size of 2 small pedals. The delays and verbs are among the best I've heard.

I had one of those. Great reverb, pretty limited delay. I think the Eventide effects are better - soundwise and flexibility.olegmcnoleg wrote:The Neunaber Slate and midi controller might also work for you, thats the size of 2 small pedals. The delays and verbs are among the best I've heard.

+1 for eventide, although i had a shit of a time trying to get the midi to work.Had three factor pedals hooked up...
Sounds are unbeatable though.Never tried the h9 but will have to have a nosey.

Re: Delay & Reverb pedal with midi control
Mmm the H9 is prefered for the options and size, but it's also the most spendy. Understandibly so, i had a flick through the manual and the level of tweakability was ridiculous!
TC Nova is the best bang for buck. I could potentially fit it on the rack drawer in the case, that would be sweet. What ever i pick will "effectively" be in the fx loop, so i don't think the drive will be of much use. Will have to wait for one to pop up too!
Neunaber is new to me, i'll look it up. I'm more on the reverb side than delay but i wouldn't want one without the other.
I see Empress have a sweet reverb too with some delay/mod options built in. Any thoughts on that one?
Was that so you could run two algorithms at the same time?I have 2 of them. 1 may be surplus to my requirements...

Cool thanks. Hopefully they roll them into one unitSource Audio looks like a good option for this too, they have the Nemisis delay and they are developing a new reverb as well.

Re: Delay & Reverb pedal with midi control
I've had 2 H9s and an Amplifire all working off a single midi footswitch, no problems with either direct presets or simple scroll up/down, and with expression pedal over midi and tap tempo clock all synced.Kris wrote:+1 for eventide, although i had a shit of a time trying to get the midi to work.Had three factor pedals hooked up...

That would make for a great pedal porn photo. I got a Voodoo Lab switcher doing the channel changing through the ES-5 so i can't imagine the H9 would be any harder to set upI've had 2 H9s and an Amplifire all working off a single midi footswitch, no problems with either direct presets or simple scroll up/down, and with expression pedal over midi and tap tempo clock all synced.

Well, it seems I don't have a spare H9 any more.Conway wrote:Highly recommend the H9. Reverb, delays, all types of modulation and much more. Full midi control.

You can set up an H9 using an iPad or iPhone app over bluetooth. Piece of piss.Mattallica wrote:That would make for a great pedal porn photo. Re: Delay & Reverb pedal with midi control
the simple stuff was plug and play, but i wanted different things other than sequential stepping.like mod factor off/space on-time factor preset10 space pre 35 etc.....although it could have been also the fact it was going thru a g-lab that didnt have the best polish/english translated manual...Conway wrote: I've had 2 H9s and an Amplifire all working off a single midi footswitch, no problems with either direct presets or simple scroll up/down, and with expression pedal over midi and tap tempo clock all synced.

Hey mate would you mind checking the height of the Nova for me?The Nova system is really nice, I picked one up recently for $300, and it covers a lot of bases, especially because it also adds in programmable analog overdrive too. It is a big bugger, but then it might be all you need?

Re: Delay & Reverb pedal with midi control
Will do. I've owned a bunch of the Nova pedals previously, so knew what I was getting. Not as flash/controllable as some systems, but all the basics are right and the sound quality is right up there (IMHO).
