still not the same though...at the last tronfest I plugged into the helix that was there and dialled in the EVH amp and set it exactly like my amp and while it sound very similar it was very harsh compared to the real thing...I got ear fatigue with in 5 minutes. Yes a lot of it was probably the monitors but it was enough to put me off going down that roadjeremyb wrote:My go to amp model now for high gain, love them!!!!

Re: Peavey 5150 etc
I've just been testing the 6505 and comparing it to my AxeFx. Recorded both with the same settings and ran it all through a spectrum analyser and also compared with logic's eq match.
No difference at all. Feel the same to play too.
AxeFx certainly have it down.

Re: Peavey 5150 etc
well if you feel the high gain urge mine is for sale for less than the scruffy one as Sopachrga pointed out-its ex-molly so he can chime in on its condition if need be.Ive had maybe three rehearsals max through it....just dont need 120w of blue collar grunt at this point in preoceedings!

Re: Peavey 5150 etc
FYI the new Peavey Invective amp should be available in NZ around Juneish.
Announced at NAMM, it's a tweaked block letter 5150 rhythm/lead tone, a now workable/usable clean channel, two effects loop and in built overdrive & noise gate.
I'll be getting one once they are here. Sounds like the perfect 5150.
