Thanks for the heads up. According to Brett Kingman, the saturated mode is exactly what I'm looking for.

Sold!

If you're having trouble finding the right drive pedal, perhaps you could build yourself one of these... or you could ask to borrow it now that Axle doesn't need it any more!

Don't you have a DLS? Thats been the dirt pedal that ended the tone quest for me.

Welcome to borrow it if you like. Don't need a marshall in a box for my next gig, have the real thing ready to go now.

I have a DLS. I'm using it.
What became apparent in this band is a distinct tonal difference. Have had a couple of sessions with them but last night, the guitarist I'm replacing was there.

My tone is mid boost heavy OD with single coils. (DLS or Zendrive and Archer)
His is scooped, saturated with Les Paul.
His works much better in this context.

So I need to adjust. Hoping the Hardwire will fit the bill. At a pinch, I can just nick his entire rig but where's the fun in that?

I have the Hardwire also.

It is a nice "valve distortion" and Marshallesque but just not quite enough gain for the distortion I like.

Even the GT500 didn't have enough gain for me.
