Re: Boss MS-3 Multi Effects Switcher Megathread
I understand the confusion, but that's kinda just the way it is. The numbers in the Liveset editor relate to the Program Change (PC) numbers as opposed to the Bank/Patch layout.sirvill wrote:Hey Matt, do you know much about the "Live Set" functionality in the editor?
Its confused me a bit, as when you drag the patches into the set they're now no longer named after which slot (ie 1-2, 2-4 etc) but now just numbered from 1 to whatever. How should I use this function?
I guess the easiest way to deal with it would be to type yourself up a quick reference chart in MS Excel or something:
PC # >> Bank/Patch
1 >> 1-1
2 >> 1-2
3 >> 1-3
4 >> 1-4
5 >> 2-1
6 >> 2-2
7 >> 2-3
etc....

Nope.
The PSB power supply that ships with the MS3 is capable of running MANY pedals - so a daisy chain would be all you need...

Hey Maaaaatt.... Just saw a demo video for the GT-1B and there are all sorts of bass synths and stuff in there. Any chance some of these might come to the MS-3 in a future update?

It's amazing how long midi has persevered without being replaced, the standard is almost 35 years old!

Well - nothing's impossible. A huge amount of the GT-1B is already contained within the MS-3.sirvill wrote:Hey Maaaaatt.... Just saw a demo video for the GT-1B and there are all sorts of bass synths and stuff in there. Any chance some of these might come to the MS-3 in a future update?

Cool... just wondering if new/additional effects (bass or otherwise) are part of the product roadmap.handsoffmatt wrote:Well - nothing's impossible. And yeah the only hole really is the filters/synths, everything else bass wise is there I think.

We pretty much never disclose our product roadmap. Our company style is usually not to discuss stuff before it happens (with a few exceptions)sirvill wrote:Cool... just wondering if new/additional effects (bass or otherwise) are part of the product roadmap.handsoffmatt wrote:Well - nothing's impossible. There are some fun bass filters in the MS-3 in the BASS T.WAH section

Re: Boss MS-3 Multi Effects Switcher Megathread
Hello
1st time caller here, any help gratefully received.
Am using an Ernie Ball VP Jnr 25K Ohm pedal as expression pedal with my newly acquired MS-3.
The volume swell from 0 - full seems to be occurring in the last 20% of the pedal's travel.
Is this the pedal or an internal setting within the unit ?
Will the MS-3 work best with a specific BOSS expression pedal ?
Thanks

Re: Boss MS-3 Multi Effects Switcher Megathread
Can confirm that it does work with the Boss ones, but might be able to work with yours.
I'd try fiddling with the settings - there is a setting to choose minimums and maximums for expression pedals so I'd have a fiddle with that, make sure you haven't changed a setting.

Please excuse my pedal power short-comings ;
So you're saying I can plug a 4 plug daisy chain onto the end of the MS-3 power supply and have it power three external overdrive pedals and the MS-3 with no issues ??
Cheers

Discovered by changing "Curve" to "Fast" on page 2 of FV edit page it gives me the volume swell I'm after
What a powerful little beast this thing is !!
