Pedal Me Up

Post by Pastasauce »

I know that it goes against type for me to do self-indulgent posts GASing for pedals.

But anyway, here's my "problem". I have a pedaltrain nano with room for give or take 5/6 pedals. I've always loved pedals. The board size is a good limiter.

BUT. I've been playing my new AC15, and most of the pedals feel surplus. It has reverb and tremolo built in. The reverb isn't perfect but with the knob around 8 o'clock it's fine. I've already sold my old Wet. The Wampler Euphoria isn't getting much use. In fact, the only pedals I find myself using are a Timmy and Memory Lane Jr. The amp sounds so good, and I'm getting most of the gain sounds I want with just my volume knob.

So basically... could you guys help give me gas?

I want to try a Rat and a Hotcake just because it's a Vox so I feel like I have to. But, beyond that, what should I be looking at? Fuzz? Modulation of some kind? Analogue delay?

It just feels weird to have some cash to burn, space on my pedalboard, but no real urgent desire to fill it.

Agreed, although if you had a ridiculous tiny pedal board, one could have the Bronson or Orion on there, and the other waiting to go.

I can confirm that, in fact, all three plus a footswitch and a Pitch-black can fit on a Pedaltrain Nano. No room for dotted 8ths on there though

I just can't bring myself to let go of my Memory Lane Jr, it's everything I want in a delay. I think if I got another delay it be something small and a bit darker, like a Carbon Copy.

Give the vapour trail a consideration too, really like mine and it has an effects loop where you can put pedals in and affect the delayed repeats!

Very true. Much better value than a CC in my opinion.
