FUZZ suggestions - SORTED
I feel the need for some fuzz, not modern, more vintage, any recommendations on a "cheaper" fuzz pedal say $60-$120 range?
On Trademe are Behringer BF300 super fuzz, Valeton Red Haze, Lovepedal 200lb.

Re: FUZZ suggestions
Look up pepers pedals on Facebook. He's a pedal maker in Dunedin and can pretty much any fuzz pedal for around $100. His quality is top notch.

Re: FUZZ suggestions
Ssssshhhhh!!! Damn you! I have replaced said Mooer pedal with a Pepers one. Pretty sure he has run out of the latest batch. In the meantime, how about that Mooer Tri Buff, eh? Smooth vintagey goodness galore!NippleWrestler wrote:Look up pepers pedals on Facebook. He's a pedal maker in Dunedin and can pretty much any fuzz pedal for around $100. His quality is top notch.

That's a clone of the Boss FZ-2. Mode 2 is Electric Wizard in a box.MakoGat wrote:Behringer SF300 super fuzz

Re: FUZZ suggestions
Pepers are generally $110-120 if you want powdercoated enclosure and graphics etc. A plain box should cost a bit less.
If you go to him, might as well ask him to make you a DAM Meathead clone.
The Rogue is probably a Fuzz Face clone.

Re: FUZZ suggestions
He sells his pedals way too cheaply, must just love making them!
Lots of cool fuzzes out there, maybe look for a DOD Carcosa on reverb or ebay, they're $99 US new, but coupons often come up for PGS or Prymaxe etc...

Yes look for a Carcosa - best value for a very very cool pedal!jeremyb wrote:He sells his pedals way too cheaply, must just love making them!

Yeah, there is no way he is making money on those, I would doubt he is even covering his time, just raw parts.jeremyb wrote:He sells his pedals way too cheaply, must just love making them!

Mainly because he mostly sell pedals to crust punks, not worship guitarists or hipsters, haha.

Re: FUZZ suggestions
And he's also just doing knockoffs too I guess so they have to be cheaper than the originalsgodgrinder wrote:Mainly because he mostly sell pedals to crust punks, not worship guitarists or hipsters, haha.

Re: FUZZ suggestions
True, if you push it too close to used original prices then people would just buy originals.jeremyb wrote:And he's also just doing knockoffs too I guess so they have to be cheaper than the originals
Also depends on how you market them though, if you market it right you can sell a clone or a slightly modified circuit (or even repainted cheapo pedals) at a premium. Freekish Blues and Dragonfly FX anyone? Haha.
