Re: Say goodbye to your pedal board
Intriguing maybe, silly yes. Do we really need to go through a mime act just to alter an effect?
The primary reason we have pedals on a board being so we can use our hands to play without interruption and use our unrequired feet to do the other stuff.

That was my initial thought too, but I would be interested to see how they envisage it working in practice. And how they avoid setting it off accidentally...Dharmajester wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 8:43 am Intriguing maybe, silly yes. Do we really need to go through a mime act just to alter an effect?

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

On the subject of WTF ideas, I was listening to a report on Solar Geo-Engineering last night.
The premise is that we will never control global warming by output reduction methods so we should take inspiration from volcanoes and seed the atmosphere with light reflecting particles. Experiments are currently underway in Arctic Sweden.
Now what could possibly go wrong here?

Sounds like it'd be really good for singers to use. I can imagine pop groups choreographing dance moves to trigger effects in songs using this sort of tech and that's pretty cool.
What is weird is that Sony is crowdfunding. You'd think they could find $80k from somewhere.

Wasn't this the premise behind Highlander 2?Slowy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 10:17 am On the subject of WTF ideas, I was listening to a report on Solar Geo-Engineering last night.

There was a similar idea brought up a few years ago about building gigantic fans on each of the poles that would create snow as the wind turned them, effectively replacing ice that was lost due to warming. Problem was it would take all of Chinas and Americas steel to build enough of them.

I already look like a spazz on stage....this would enhance that nicely.
The idea that while I am air-wanking some effect, I can't play the various strings I need to complete the piece, seems like an oversight.
