Fuzzboy V3 (Monarch Pedals) demo

Post by Zaulkin »

Had a little muck around with Tez' Fuzzboy V3. Really enjoyed this fuzz - I'd buy one if I didn't already have my V1 which is special.

I think what I like about Tez' pedals is that they inspire me to get off the digital screen that I normally use and just play a bit more organically. Normally I am probably a bit lazy and I just find my favourite setting on a pedal and leave it. I feel like there is some different sound lurking in the fuzzboy which is always a bit of fun. Plus I just really love the graphics haha.

Anyone here rocking a Monarch Pedal on their board?

Here are some tonez:

When making this video I had a bit of ground noise (caused by me) that stumped me for a while, but I managed to mostly figure it out in the end. Definitely feeling happier about the quality of the sound I'm getting now - for the guitar playing and for the voiceover.

Last night I had a look at how much I have improved since my first few videos - thumbnails and all - and felt pretty pleased about that. Making videos is definitely a lot of work I must say - I don't know how people put out content every few days if they are just doing it all themselves.

What are you running the pedal into? Digital or a physical amp?

Digital. I used the JM45 amp model in my Axefx 3.

I'm trying to use my HX stomp for my amp models rather than into the front of an amp so good to hear a demo using digital. :)

I currently have the Cuppa Tea on my board. Was looking for an EQ pedal to use as a coloured boost into other drives and it really fits the bill.

I also have the Saint Mantis (fantastic into my Tweed amps, but haven't made it work with BF/Plexi), Screen Memory (awesome OD with a boost switch, very versatile but unfortunately on long-term loan to my nephew who is showing no sign of returning it) and a Fuzz Boy XL (newish acquisition, still getting to know it).

I have space for three OD/boost/fuzz pedals on my board (Flint and Sunset being permanent fixtures in the fourth and fifth positions). 90% of the time the three spots are filled by pedals from Tez or Reg.
