The 18w version looks like a pretty standard 5E3 clone, except for the "custom" Weber speaker. The 25w version may sound a little different with a larger OT and 6L6's, but I'm sure it's pretty close too.

There's a few people around the forum with 5E3 type amps - Mahtone has a Ceriatone 5E3 clone I believe, and Hot_Grits has a Victoria Double Deluxe (larger OT, 4x 6V6) I'm sure he'd be happy for you to check out.

I'm not looking at buying one (not yet anyway) - was just curious about them because I found out that a guitarist I really enjoy and saw live last year uses these amps - I love his tone. So was just asking out of curiousity if anyone had tried one out. I know he also used Victoria amps at some point. I guess at some point I'll be looking for something in that kind of range - sweet, sweet tone in my opinion.

Excuse my ignorance, but a 5E3 clone is a clone of what?

A 5E3 is a mid/late-50's Fender "Tweed" Deluxe (often referred to as "Narrow Panel Deluxe") :)

Amps based off the 5E3 circuit are usually pretty awesome-sounding amps for a variety of music (unless you need a tight, fast-tracking amp).

Who's the guitarist?

Denny Freeman - he's currently the lead guitarist for Bob Dylan's touring band.
