Anyone had any experience with these? Been offered a set by a friend which I'm thinking of slapping in my Explorer.
Can't find jack about them at HC in the pickup database?
Likes/dislikes? Tone? Output?
Cheers!

the l500 is "lead"(bridge),the R500 is "rythym" and the xl500 is the super hot version of the l500-as used by nuno, dumbag etc.good combo if its the L+R,never tried the xl but i'd like too

Re: Bill Lawrence L 500's
My brother has one in his samick SG. Brutal as, clean tone isn't exactly great but that's not a reason to buy an L-500 anyway (not to mention the guitar is cheap anyway and sounds like a dull plank).

Re: Bill Lawrence L 500's
In my experience (I had the XL+R combo in my old Kelly for ages)... they sound... different.
I haven't had a play on them in a few years, but from what I remember they sounded quite balanced, EQ-ed almost flat to my ears (at the time of course). High output but "clean" sounding as well if that makes sense.
I don't know if you'd like them, to be honest.
But what do I know, it's been about 2 or 3 years since I've had that guitar and those pickups. I may have written some comments about them when I had them, maybe a search would bring up something useful for you.
