Thinking of picking those up for my LPC, just for fun.

They sure could be the real thing. The base plates and covers look right from that little picture, but they could be from some totally diferent era and look pretty much the same.

You probably need to see the bobbins inside to be sure. Good price if they are something worthy.

Better pics would help. Also the covers have been off them so any kind of funny business could be going on.

For that money one could get second hand burst buckers or classics from eBay without the risk. Both have worthy bucker tones.

Chuck some EMGs in there

Seriously though, if you use alot of gain or noisy pedals, EMGs are a good option. In my guitar they both sound nicer and are quieter than the ceramics I had. Win, win really.
I understand there a plenty of people who would not like the idea though.

There's also a pair of '57 Classics on at the moment. Thinking of picking those up.

On the other hand I'm loving the tone from Alnico II Pros in the neck of the LPC. It still seems a bit bassier than the bridge pickup, I'm starting to wonder if it's a cap or something in there that's causing this.

I've gone down the EMG road in the past, and while they are fun the whole compressed attack thing gets old pretty quickly. I would use them again only if I were playing teh metalz or teh shredz, neither of which I am doing at this point in time.

yeah, you might have picked up a chick with big uns?
Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.
