this thread has me GASing for BKPs now, wishing I'd kept the ratty strat and chucked some mother's milks in it.
Thinking about getting a replacement P90 for my LP Junior, and maybe getting a PAFish bucker to chuck in the neck (which would make it not a junior at all, but a lot more versatile)
Or maybe I should just hold out for a Gibby. Got a guy who wants to trade me an 80's Iced Tea LP Deluxe (absolutely gorgeous and my favourite finish) with mini Humbuckers for my White Falcon. Tempting, but I know I'd regret it forever

They are really,really expesive.

I now have an Ash J 90 in the same gat. It is sweet , toneful goodness.
Wow. I've tried the Mississippi Queens and the very last thing I'd describe them as is dark. I chose the Manhattan HB sized P-90s because they were warmer sounding (more mids, less tops).

I've tried Mules, Rebel Yells, Crawlers, Apache (strat pups), Mississippi Queens, Manhattans, and IB's Nailbomb and loved them all. The Crawlers and Manhattans are my favourites but even the Nailbomb (which is about as far away from my kind of thing as a pickup can get) was stellar, even played clean. I'll eventually get some Crawlers or Mules for Blondie Robin.
Yeh..that was it, Mississippi Queen. Maybe it was a dud? No brightness in the one I had.

I love the Bareknuckle Crawler humbuckers. Had some in my PRS they sounded phenomenal. I'd love to try some Rebel Yells at some stage.

I've heard/tried Nailbombs in a few different guitars and some where better than others, but to be honest I'm not a fan of high output humbuckers most of the time. There are two Nailbombs aren't there? Ceramic magnet version and alnico? Maybe I like one and not the other?

Got a set of Nailbombs from Slash-Ed, chucked them into a Jackson.
They replaced a JB in the bridge & the crappy stock Jackson neck pickup.

For me neck pickup sounds cool for the clean stuff but otherwise never gets used. The bridge NB is awesome, very balanced & has an open airy quality to it, which I think helps maintain note definition in high gain applications.

A mate has the Rebel Yell in his Malmsteen strat & he loves it.

BKP's....yup, I dig em :D

One boosts the mids more I think, but from watching youtube I have noticed a difference. Now I just gotta figure out which one I am listening to and my mind will be made up haha
