Single coil love

Post by jeremyb »

Never been a single coil guy, always owned gats with humbuckers, have finally discovered the glassy crispness and low salt butteriness of them, so what's the hot ticket for a tele bridge pickup that's a bit rowdy but noiseless or at least not too hummy?

This is a great traditional Tele tone, but if you're looking for a touch more "meat" (without going into "hot" territory), I would recommend this:

http://www.dimarzio.com/pickups/tele/hu ... area-t-615
"Volume is tone" - EVH

Electrics: ESP/Fender/Gibson/.strandberg*/Godin/Washburn/Music Man/Knaggs/Squier/Vintage
Acoustic: Cole Clark/Godin/Takamine/Taylor
Amps: BOSS Katana Head / Friedman Smallbox

Interesting, would it be more stratty than the standard one?

I have those in my Ibanez front and middle, they're awesome, but they're not quiet.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Because teles are great and so is gain.

you're not wrong there but as I have said in another thread if your pick is noisy then your not playing your guitar...hit the strings = noise is gone

I loved the Area Hot T in the bridge of my Korina Tele but that wasn't a 100% Tele sound I suppose.
