Removing humbucker screws.. is this mongtarded?

Post by Some Bozo »

Skip the first 7:00 to avoid the inane chatter until he starts talking about the mod, skip to 10:00 to hear it in action. Sounds convincing... I'd probably lose the screws though.

Make Your Humbucker Guitar Sound Like A Telecaster In 2 Minutes

You'll find that hard to sell round here. :eh:
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I agree because you have then rendered you "main awesome" guitar into one that is now completely different...it is just easier to buy a bloody tele and then still have your "awesome" guitar and a tele

I'm having trouble believing that guy when he says he doesn't know how much a bag of pot costs

There is a second video that he attempts to get a Strat sound.. Sounds good. Id never do it, not sure if it would damage the pickup, the info about doing the coil splitting and having a 250k pot sounds interesting..

Cool little mod. Don't think he deserves any of this negative vibe you guys are throwing at him though... Unless it actually damages the pickups.. then, that's a different story..

Doubt it would cause any damage. Not very practical in my opinion but interesting none the less!

I can mod a guitar easily to get a tele sound. First take one dentists drill....

Great vid, so natural and unscripted the way I like it. Fav part when he had to release some lunch that got tangled up in his words. Will I try this, damn right I will as I love Teles, Hell I might even leave the screws out. I guess you could do this to only one of the pickups if you wanted a single/Humbucker combo....but I am not sure if that has been done before either :). Anyway on to part 2 for the strat mod, which I must say I am less keen on as I have less love for them.

Shimming the neck with a 20 cent piece makes a guitar sound like a Tele
