Agree it sounded good. Might be the ideal solution for country flavoured players who aren't man enough to wrestle Fender scale length.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Removed the screws on my Italia which has Wilkinson HBs. Sounds Tele like alright I suppose, definitely changed the colouring, the honky HB sound is still there, but less. My G&L tele has more chime and top end. 90% as claimed, I dont think so, maybe 70%, need to try with the band to see what it really does though it terms of cut and blend.

Played a couple of songs with the mod last night with the band. Is it a tele, well not really to my ears, sounds more treble etc, but no tele chime sorry. The screws will be going back in to get back to HBing honk. Worth giving a try though.

I guess you could say it's just another sound. It may not be a perfect tele, but you may like it anyway.. As you said, worth a try!

bottom line is if you want a guitar to sound like a les paul get a les paul, if you want a guitar to sound like a tele...give up playing :shifty:

I disagree, not when the mod is this incredibly simple and reversible.. Plus I think we've come to the conclusion that it doesn't sound exactly like a tele OR a les Paul, but it may be the distinct flavour you have been chasing your whole life.. ha

If it involved hacking into your guitar and doing irreversible damage.. Then that would be truly mongtarded. But as always, ymmv.

Yeah worth a try for anyone wondering, and for those who do not have telly, it may be the golden tone you are after and I suspect different pickups and the other parts of the tonal equation will give various results.
