recommend me a set

Post by Olderama »

Hi All

Ive just aquired a Cort k6 with its guts removed so im looking for a set to put in

it had EMGs in it but i have got an emg guitar as well as a seymour duncan passive equiped guitar

sooooooooooo

Im after a good high gain pick up with great clarity for solos probably Dimazio or can anyone advise and the neck to complement the bridge

Also looking at dropping it in at the guitar tech that is local to me on the upperhutt road near caltex has anyone tried him/her at all?

Or go for an install myself i have the equipment but never done a fresh install from scratch :geek:

Cheers

If you want the cheaper end of the spectrum, I stuck a Tonerider Generator and AC4 in the bridge and neck of that Kramer I bought from you - sounds really good IMO. Full set will cost you like $120.

Actually recorded a before and after of the tones - I'll get around to posting it here if it'll help :)

Here ya go bud. Did it via youtube as there are a few different things going on and it needed annotating. Click 1080p mode :D

Use headphones cause the difference is a bit subtle (those stock pickups weren't too bad, really!). I think the stock pickups are the same ones from Epiphones if that helps your frame of reference.

I do prefer the Tonerider's though, seem to have a bit more bite and a bit less mids.
