Onamac Windery

These pickups were talk of TGP for a while I think. I stumbled upon them on eBay whilst looking for proper wound Broadcaster pickups. Seymour Duncan make some but having tried them I wasn't satisfied.

They arrived as described - bridge wound to around 10.2K and the neck at 7.6K ish. All the hardware fitted perfectly and the package came with a treble bleed circuit and a Mojotone tone cap.

Installed into the below, my trusty monster neck bitsa, the sounds are exactly what I hoped for. No ice pick, lots of girth with still the Tele twang. Plenty of clarity in the neck position and very quiet.

I am plenty impressed - highly recommended. Price was around $260 landed.

Very "pingy"! In a good way. One certainly can hear what they're doing. They're a good match for these pickups adding some clarity to the fuller sound. I like 'em.

You're describing my old Nocaster tone... :-(

I'm going to have to go on a mission to get that back.

Cheers for the pickup tip.

I got some strat pickups from Onamac Windery.... really didn't like them. Actually sounded horrible... when I found some texas specials, I was right at home again... YMMV, glad you're enjoying them :)

I reckon that no-caster and your new R9 could possibly be the only tone monsters you'd ever need.

Can you post any sound clips? I'm always looking for the ultimate Tele pickups, was just investigating Suhr Classic Ts online but these sound interesting too.

Not too bad a price for both pickups really. Will have to keep them in mind for future Tele projects.

I still think the Fender Nocaster pickup is a good one. Or at least it was a number of years ago when I had one in my Esquire at the time. It was a do anything pickup; clean and twangy or plenty of girth when you wound the volume up. And of course the Cavalier pickups are fantastic too. Lots of good Nocaster-esque pickups about with slightly different flavours.

Just for you fellas. The playing is dodgy...and I didn't let any notes ring out. Swart NightLight Jr is on for the demo.
