Wedge picks

Post by dc »

Uhh, not sure where this should go so pickups will do.

Anyone know who sells Wedge picks? I got a small selection with my Martin mag, and one of them has "wedge" stamped on it, and I like it.

Aren't they Gibson picks???

If they're the ones I'm thinking off, I've seen them at music shops in general.

Bit hard to imagine Gibson picks coming with a Martin mag Rog :D

Turns out it's "Wedgie", damed eyesight, bought in by Lyn McAllister music, who bring in Martin.

There's a big fat eraser type thing, about 4mm thick, not sure what it's good for, then there's ones with serrated edges, which are fun, but the one that I liked had a slight concave with a grippy face and 0.4mm thick.

I got some Gibson wedge picks on the weekend (A heavy and two thins though I meant to get two heavies). They're really good actually, they give me more accuracy than the old .73mm Jim Dunlops I used.

You could try getting them online maybe? Someone on TM?

Each to their own, but those wedgies are WIERD! Good for erasing pencil lead...and that's it. However, super comfy feel to them. Played an acoustic with it and it made a quiet but even tone...lead's/solo's near impossible. I need to ask, why?

Anyone know what the fat rubber ones are for, apart from erasing?

Here's the info on Wedgie pics from LynMac:
WEDGIE PICKS & ACCESSORIES http://www.wedgieproducts.com

The unique and innovative design of the Wedgie pick is so comfortable that
you will never hold a flat pick again without noticing how flat it is. The
contoured shape allows for more contact between the pick and your thumb,
without changing the feel or playability of the pick.

Wedgie picks come in a variety of materials and gauges to suit any player.
They can be ordered singly, in a pickbox, or in convenient packs of a dozen.

Wedgie Picks - Delrin EX (WPD) $1.00
A clean sound with a snappy release, as well as the durability of quality
delrin material.
6 gauges - .50mm, .60mm, .73mm, .88mm, 1.0mm, 1.14mm (please specify)

Wedgie Picks - Clear XL (WPC) $1.00
Made from a blend of polycarbonate, these picks come in vivid translucent
colours that sound as good as they look.
6 gauges - .50mm, .60mm, .73mm, .88mm, 1.0mm, 1.14mm (please specify)

Wedgie Picks - Nylon XT (WPN) $1.00
This pick has the patented Wedgie shape with an added texture for extra grip
making a comfortable pick that won't slip. Colours white through to black.
6 gauges - .40mm, .50mm, .60mm, .73mm, .88mm, 1.0mm (please specify)

Wedgie Picks - Flexx 1.0mm (WPF1.0) $1.00
The innovative Wedgie Flexx pick has the depth of a thick pick and the
flexibility of a thin. Available in 1.0 mm gauge.

Wedgie Picks - Rubber (WPR) $1.50
The elastomer (rubber!) material nearly eliminates pick noise and produces
clean, warm tones. It sounds like your fingers, but plays like a pick.
6 gauges - 3.1mm soft, 3.1mm med, 3.1mm hard, 5.0mm soft, 5.0mm med, 5.0mm
hard

Wedgie Pick Holders
Wedgie Pick Holders mount conveniently with a twist-lock design that fits on
the strings of any guitar. They use no adhesives and because the holder is
suspended in the strings above the nut, they will not affect tuning or tone.
Available singly or in display packs of 12.

Guitar (WPHG) $4.95
Bass (WPHB) $4.95

Microphone Stand Snaps easily on to a mic stand and holds up to 6 picks
