I might save up next year and get me a humbuckered guitar? and another thing, just speaking personally here I don't think I could sell a guitar again done it once, my SG400 and it was mint, I will keep all my guitars, and just save for more.willow13 wrote:gee daza you could have had something not to far away from that for a fraction of the priceDaza152 wrote: mate that's fucken hot...well i like it.

so he wrote the bits that joe plays?? (not surprising I guess...joe was drunk through all of the 70's....and 80's...and 90's....and etcetc)...I prefer joes style/sound (pretty sure he played a tele on this daz)alf wrote:Here ya go Daz, going back to your 1st post. A lesson from the guy who wrote it

I read somewhere the parts were just from his first take on a demo, they ended up recording them pretty much as was...
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.
Re: What's Solo's Do You Wish You Could Play?
Mean. I find lately guys that as I play my Tele most of the time and I am working on one main piece at the moment, I tend to be distracted and want to do some other song...do you guys have that issue too? the old story learning like 5 songs at a time senario? I feel if I just concentrate on one at a time I would just fucken nail it..sooner. I don't have any desire to write my own stuff but rather take a classic and make it my own...have no choice there as it definitely doesn't sound like the original, and I do that on purpose of course...not.willow13 wrote:(pretty sure he played a tele on this daz)alf wrote:Here ya go Daz, going back to your 1st post. reverb ... and I wouldn't call it a truckload. I would call it about the right amount.
Yup - that's me and my pal Steve or little stevie vai as I like to call him. In Auckland airport when I was 26. I'm not 26 anymore.
Re: What's Solo's Do You Wish You Could Play?
OK cool, and is that a ute load or trailer load? Cheers Dave.NZRS-Dave wrote:reverb ... and I wouldn't call it a truckload. I would call it about the right amount.

there is definitely delay there as well. Is it only me who thinks he looks way older than the other guys?? maybe it because he isn't in the band anymoreNZRS-Dave wrote:reverb ... and I wouldn't call it a truckload. I would call it about the right amount.

Ive never thought I would even get close to Dimes Cemetery solo. But watchin Chris Zoupas lessons and starting slow its not as hard as it sounds.
Loving it so far

Re: What's Solo's Do You Wish You Could Play?
I like learning solos and playing to the backing track, then trying to improvise my own ones and attempt to make them sound like they belong in the song. Trying to slow down and phrase licks more than the fast runs etc. Playing old school stuff. Classic rock. Force myself to learn classic solos like Hotel California and Comfortably Numb etc. Learn lots about phrasing and note choices by doing that. Simple solos done with real style. I always remember some guitarist back in the 80s advising newbies to "just steal" licks off others and make them your own. Still do the Randy Rhoads stuff a bit, but over did it so they feel like exercises now.

This, which is really bloody odd, because if I am noodling away by myself, I tend to repeat the same licks and runs over and over... but as soon as I try and links some of it together for an actual solo, it's a one time only affair.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.
