how long a pedal batteries supposed to last?

I use rechargeable's for many of my electronic stuff, not in my pedals tho, I find those cheap arse $2 batteries last for ages, and ages, and ages...if they didn't I would get a rechargable

Thread dredging again. Wondering whether it's worth getting a battery charger and a rechargeable 9v size battery. Am I wasting my time? Should I get a power supply instead?

Well... I use the rechargeables on my camera (which I realize is nothing like a pedal) and the two "AA" batteries it uses take erm... eleven hours to charge up.

So, basically, I spend a lot of time waiting for the batteries to finish charging up. YMMV, but it's not like you're ready to go in under a few hours. If I was a methodical sort of bloke, I'd always remember to put the batteries to charge as soon as I'd finish using them, and I'd never have a problem.

But I'm not methodical, so I have a One-Spot. Are you methodical?

its kinda like the 2 batteries for ya cordless drill, every time you go to use it BOTH batteries will be flat

Possibly not , I just usually have double of everything haha , spare batteries always in the charger, spare guitars/amps/cars/beer/vodka

When I got my line6 tonecore uber metal pedal it came with a battery, it lasted less than 10 minutes, so I tried it with another battery, that battery lasted about 20 minutes, if you unplug it and plug it back in it will work for about 5 minutes and then produce the same problem. So I just bought a power adaptor.

Apparently it adds a touch of distortion(???)

I've seen people swear by it, but I think it only applies to some batteries and not others?

Anyone have any experience with that?

i think it depends more on the pedals than the batteries, unless they're the soviet one Ash was going on about in another thread

Only NZG could make the humble 9v volt battery so bloody interesting.

Certainly on topic, as I have found no major issues with the Tone of batteries going flat, except it may ruin my Style if they instantly go flat "like rechargeable's do".

Soviet? That sounds right. I think the batteries we use have changed over time and the half-dead battery thing doesn't work with modern batteries. The Soviets were probably using the old 50s technology.

I know Danelectro used to sell "Vintage" style batteries, back in the 1990s claiming they gave pedals a different sound. I had one, but never bothered to A/B it. *tsk*
