Fav Scale

Me i like to hack and and grab anything that sounds good.
I really dig those mark tremonti D scales. That makes me feel happy, or else the metallica "for whom the bell tones" type of scale.
You see i can not tell what type of scale that is because i have never learnt, although i would love to.
My band is like "You know we should really learn about music and know what we are really playing, it would sound better." so we all agree to learn our instruments and what not. A week latter we come together and nothing has changed. We know nothing apart that we sound good. lol.

If i try to play anylicks that sound like limp bisket or real heavy metal i get angry and do something silly to my guitar or amp. That music makes me go nuts. Weird how music does that too you. Any one else have that problem with music?
