The 'no religion' policy would be easier to follow if people didn't feel the need to constantly remind everyone of their religious beliefs.
It's kind of like having a 'no sex-talk' policy with a bunch of prostitutes on the forum who love sharing work stories and have porn in their avatars.

BEST musical experience of my life . . . .
Fixed. But for whose benefit? Duh duh dunnnnbbrunskill wrote: Last night, I had what has to be the musical experience I've ever had.
I decided to run acoustic music at our venue for holiday weekend instead of the usual rock deally, and so I've been meeting weekly with various classical players over the past term and working with them to get them comfortable improvising parts that work behind a vocal.
It all came together this last night for our Friday gig, in a 14 piece team/combo/band/group thing
We had cello, 2x violin, viola, harp, 2x acoustic guitar, acoustic piano, electric piano through a tube amp, synth and a laptop for auto tune and various background textures and 4 singers.
The team just killed it, everyone was on their A game and playing with serious skill and passion. The music was gorgeous.
One of the singers had never sung on stage before - what a way to start!
Anyway, mad props to everyone involved and especially to our sound and lighting gurus. It was awesome.

Re: BEST musical experience of my life . . . .
I went to a outdoor garden wedding where there was a harp player ... she was quite attractive ... and she made the harp sing. I don't know if those things are easy to play or not, but she made it look easy.
I was bored with the wedding and was probably checking her out and wondering what was under the long classically wedding appropriate harp player dress that she was wearing ... and I think she might have spotted me. She smiled at me and I smiled back but gave her the metal horns in deference to what she was playing. She grinned back and even so subtley ... weaved Enter Sandman into the piece she was playing. I can't even begin to tell you how it sounded, but it was like jazz harp playing Enter Sandman snippets all the time it was cool.
I walked up when she had finished and thanked her for being a good sport ... I asked if she wanted a drink ... she was a cool 'you better get me a red wine or something ... I could f'n murder a bourbon but I better have wine so I look the part'.
I saw her about a year later and my wife recognised her first ... she had tats down to her tshirt line and over her shoulder. She looked MUCH hotter covered up - but what a choice-as woman.
Now when I play at church (once or twice a year), I try to drop as many rock riffs in as a can.
So yeah, that's my religious ceremony with a harp player story.

I'm not sure if this is referring to me and my original post, but I was careful to talk about music in my post and barely mentioned that it was even in church.Basket Case wrote:The 'no religion' policy would be easier to follow if people didn't feel the need to constantly remind everyone of their religious beliefs.
Now back to your regularly programmed completely off topic madness.

Re: BEST musical experience of my life . . . .
I have waaay too many great experiences while playing music to relate, but since this is all about me, here's one I thoroughly enjoyed.
We were looking for a new bassist, so I could drop onto keys and invited a really good & highly experienced local bass player along to a gig, so he could get an idea of what we played. During a break we asked him if he was cool playing that stuff. He said "I can play any song you guys play, but there's no way I can play like him (me), he's brilliant!". Coming as it did from who it did (now deceased), it fair made my day.
