Boost pedal will seem to be the best option, I just really don't wana spend hundreds, already have those discussions with the wife about my "expensive" hobby that doesn't pay for itself lol
Re: your wife's "discussions", why not do a few covers gigs under a different name? It's easy money (especially if you do it acoustic...especially with a rig that consists of a few pedals and a DI) and can sustain your gear purchasing addiction. Keeps your chops fresh too.
So in summary, take everything that you do now and do it completely differently because some guy on the internet told you to.
