Being on holidays and put a 5 way selector switch in my Stagg to split the SH8 bridge I tuned down to Eb standard this morning to attempt Scarified. In the end I think it will go the way of Open G and E and drop D and C at other times of my life - I can't be bothered.

Use DGDGBE on the acoustic. It's good for pretty melodies.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I've been messing with an alternate tuning of sorts on the Mockingbird, EADG E. I need to go to a guitar shop.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Experimenting quite a bit at the moment, one guitar in E std, one in Drop C# and one in Drop A! Quite fun messing about with them all, love the low A tho'... almost as much as I love the D!

I've gone back to trying to do stuff with my cut-off capo. Basically, I took a hacksaw to a Kyser so that it only covers the bottom three strings of a bass and you can get a nice ringing open string either over the top or along the bottom. I did this ages ago, after regular capos kept slipping, but I'm finally starting to use it in songs.

It's a really cool thing, have you guys done that?

I keep the Danelectro in open D and often use a capo on the second fret for - if I'm not mistaken - open E. Much fun to be had. :D

Nice, a lot of what I mess around with involves playing an open string along with other strings being fretted, it's a cool sound I reckon!
