Just listened to Parisienne Walkways (live), gotta say I love that tone what does he use there? Don't spose I can get the same sound through a Pod...?

I think the pod will get you closer than anything else around. IIRC there are GM patches you can download for the pod.

His sound changes so much on each concert - his stock gear was a JCM800 and a guv'nor for years with other stuff added on. A pod will give you a close approximation to his sound. Obviously an LP is needed for that tone, though his strat tone is pretty hot too. Most of it comes from the fingers though

Heres one of the pod tones I use, for 'Still got the Blues' which is pretty similar. I recorded this a year or two ago and I think the noise gate is pretty severe on it - needs to let a bit of hum in there

this is another Gary Moore tone I use, this time for 'Walking by Myself', again recorded a year or two ago... I need to practice this again, cos I can only remember bits of it

oh and one last one I found.... again with my Pod XT and LP

yes, its all the same tone.... most of it comes from the fingers

I have long fingers, not little stumps.... are the stumps an integral part
