Recommend me some fingerstyle guitar songs
Been finding lately I don't have much of an urge to fire up the amps and play electric while at home. But I always keep a couple of acoustics sitting on stands around the house, so I need to discover new music/styles to keep me going and get me out of my comfort zone. I particularly like my nylon string for plucking away on but more often than not, its just mindless noodling.
I call on the wisdom of NZG. I'm open to anything really, spanish style, classical, hidden gems that you think every player "should" know about; just songs with really nice chord arrangements. I'm no Tommy Emmanual so nothing too mental!
What do you guys like to play? Slowie - I know you must know some goodies.

Eric Clapton's Unplugged album has some great stuff. For a Nylon, try 'Signe' and 'Lonely Stranger'.

And Blackbird by the Beatles. That one seems to have taken over Stairway's spot.hamo wrote:That and Dee, I guess.dylan wrote:If you dont allready know stairway its pretty much a requirement:)

'Seven Years' by Norah Jones has a lovely (and quite simple) fingerstyle guitar part.

Re: Recommend me some fingerstyle guitar songs
Great, thanks all.
I have to admit, my Beatles education is fairly non-existent. But yeah even I know Blackbird is thrashed I should get into em more.
The Unplugged album is great. Instrumentals like Signe are sorta what I'm looking for I think. When I was on holiday a couple weeks ago, in the resorts they'd be playing all these contemporary instrumental/acoustic songs in the background. You'd be sitting there trying to put the words to the melody, was really cool.
Keep em coming

Signe is a joyful thing to play. Once you get the feel for it, it just flows under your fingers. I find it really easy to imagine myself sitting in the Mediterranean sun on the aft deck of a superyacht, plucking my old Martin classical.StratMatt88 wrote: The Unplugged album is great. Kansas - Dust In The Wind.
First time I heard it, I thought it was two or three people playing.
