Nigel Tufnel: You know, just simple lines intertwining, you know, very much like - I'm really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and it's sort of in between those, really. It's like a Mach piece, really. It's sort of...Bg wrote:Thewilltopowerrock wrote:Maybe something to do with the faces you're pulling?Bg wrote:D minor which is the saddest of all keys, I find. Marty DiBergi: What do you call this?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, this piece is called "Lick My Love Pump".

EDIT: arghhh should have read the whole thread haha.
I actually wrote a song in dm with simple lines interweaving and didn't even realise until I started to describe it to my bandmates and then we burst out laughing when we realised I was pretty much quoting this scene from Spinal Tap

Re: What's your favourite keys
I like D Harmonic Minor a la The End (Doors). I play in Am, Dm and Em moslty, and E phrygian moslty because thats what all my influences used. Also E phrygian dominant when I want to get dark and middle eastern sounding.
I've always wanted to force myself to play in F more, eg Crazy Train.
If I play jazzy type chordal stuff, then I like G-major....prob cos its just Em
I learnt this song the other day. Doesn't sound right with open strings, gotta use a capo IMO:

Probably can't stand hearing Sultans of Swing yet again.Bg wrote:D minor which is the saddest of all keys, I find. People weep instantly when they hear it, and I don't know why.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I play metal, so E minor. When I feel like a change I play in E minor. Just to mix it up every once in a while, I'll also play in E minor.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Re: What's your favourite keys
Most of the songs I write are in G or E or Am or F#m or A..... Oh and C for country stuff.... And open G for slide.
I've started playing the drums.... Not sure what key they are in.

They're all characters. I like blues in C. G has a smoldering fire to it that I like too.
