Absolutely agree with Ben - sounds a mash isolated, but great with the rest of the track

Yeah it was part of the Blues series that Martin Scorsese did, sat on my desk here - its called Red, White and Blue. Very cool it is.philly wrote:there was a doco series a few years ago where Beck plays with Lulu and Tom Jones... they played Drown in my Own Tears I think it was.. actually .. mighta been Cry ME a River.... See if you can find it. not flashy ... just jaw-droppingMolly wrote:Good that we hear things differently I guess.sirvill wrote:Man what's wrong with you guys, that was badass.
I've tried over and over again to sit through a Jeff Beck performance and just can't. I'll never 'get it'.
his solo on Tina Turner's Private Dancer on the other hand was woeful
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Tbh I really hated Toto, and still do mostly, but I think that's a cool solo.sirvill wrote:Man what's wrong with you guys, that was badass.
So many different ideas, I think thats awesome. You get so much mileage out of learning a solo like that!

Hold the line was probably my most bearable Toto song.
Dont even get me started on Africa.

I totally get that guitar playing is subjective - but it blows my mind that anybody can not be impressed by this.

Winger.
Winger. Seriously. Winger.
KIP Winger.
Not even Rachel Hunter still likes Winger.
I need a stiff drink.

I have to say that was responsible for my unreasonable hatred of Toto for many years. Seriously guys its just not cool to put 'Serengeti' in a song.sidewinder wrote:Hold the line was probably my most bearable Toto song.

But Luke has some killer chops, and he plays stereo Bogner XTC's so his tone is superb

I wouldn't mind the TAB for this solo
anyone got it?
anyone got it?
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

That solo is a horrible mess!
