Ha. That's very clever. Is that a Melodica?
Is your recording in the same key as the PC&L original?
I'm off to the woodshed...

just a case of me not matching the drum sounds particularly well yet, normally I'm not too bothered but I'd like to get the drums on that pretty much bang on.

I usually rely on midi files others have made which I can tweak until I'm happy with them. I bin any generic 'general midi' stuff and use combos of vst instruments I have. The one above I'm pretty happy with as a backing track, the guitars will come out obviously if I end up doing anything with this live.

With it being in Logic it means I can run the show 'live' from MainStage and a laptop. With just two or maybe a trio we could get pretty close to No.

Yeah its the same key.... the melodica is a kontakt based sample :) I tried to get close with synths but they just didn't sound right and I managed to find somebody who'd sampled a melodica :D Haven't found any frogs yet though damnit!
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

VST instruments are software synthesizers, they weren't actually VSTi's but the mac equivalent. So yeah the idea is that I don't have to cart around racks of synths, its all on the laptop. Yeah its just playing over the top but MainStage is pretty flexible with what you can do with it. So basically just how New Order play live :D

Did find a live take of Transmission on YT though, that was once played on RWP Punk special many moons ago.

This needs to happen!

Interesting read: http://www.soundonsound.com/people/recr ... onday-live but these days so easier to do stuff digitally with controller keyboards, Depeche Mode use Muse Receptors for all their sounds now and the fancy access keyboards are only for show!
