Well worth an hour out of your time to watch this; some great tips on tone, technique and a cool but logical way of dialing in an amp & pedals. Plenty of Two Rock porn too

That tone at 44:02... Killer.
Great link, Jim. Can't wait to get home and crank up my amp now.

I enjoyed that, its pretty encouraging to hear when successful and great guitarists admit they are crap at music theory.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Interesting comments about lead and rhythm guitar often separating at an early stage. I think for many that's true. I don't consider the chords I'm playing over so much as the key I'm playing in. I should try to be more disciplined about that.
Re: 'That Pedal Show' • Matt Schofield
I really admire the fluidity of his lead playing; to me what makes him so identifiable is the way he slides into notes and all of the 'incidental' notes he uses. I'm also glad the guys bought up about him referencing the chord changes with his note choices, something I'm now having a go at.
Also cool how he doesn't like the treble-bleed mod as I know Mick has it on his blue Strat. Interesting reasoning for not having it, horses for courses I guess. And his comment about 'I've never heard a great tone at low volume'... I guess that's why all of us bedroom warriors resort to pedals ?!
