A name that I don't think I've seen discussed on here. Any love for MB? Favourite tracks etc?

What say you chaps?

Heard the name before but had no idea who he was or what its all about.

He was a mover and shaker playing guitar in a guitarists era..... plenty of good vids up online, very cool.

Oh yes, definitely, worth listening to. He was doing in America what Clapton was doing in England with John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers etc.

The first 2 Paul Butterfield Blues Band albums, particularly East-West, are great. As I understand it his solo albums are hit and miss, but I liked Live at the Waldorf.

More bluesy and blues focussed than Clapton.

Sadly a victim and casualty of heroin addiction.

I've put up a few posts about him on here, one of my early and largest influences. Also the sole reason I have always wanted a LP.

The shit he did with Dylan is "Rock n roll history". Like A Rolling Stone and all that!

Molly, I have a brand new unread copy of this book:

Flick me a text next time you're around my way, I'll keep it aside for you if you think you would read it. I don't need it back :-)

If you like Bolin with Cobham maybe try Electric Flag (Bloomfield w/ Buddy Miles)

'An American Music Band' is pretty good, cool hearing Bloomfield play in that kind of setting even though unfortunately it was short lived.
