Yay or Nay? (Corkniffers please be warned)
Subtle? Yes.
Discernible? Yes (just about).
Ultimately 'boutique' and overpriced? Hmmmm, maybe... but I'd buy one.
Personally I love it and this is the exactly the kind of pedal & tone I would be drawn to. I side with Robbens' viewpoint that there's an overall improvement when it's kicked on, however I've shown the clip to a couple of guitarists and they both thought the difference was negligible and therefore a waste of money.
Interested to hear what y'all think

Robben said that his tone didn't change but the volume increased, so wouldn't a volume pedal achieve the same result?

"it sounds exactly the same, only louder, i would say almost a little better"
- Robben Ford, that video, 2:08
"almost a little better"
Wow. They should call it the "almost a little better" pedal.

Never heard of Vertex before, but this is quite hilarious:
To be fair tho' he replied and was quite humble and apologetic!Mason @ Vertex is a crook. He took a $99 BBE Wah, gooped the board, slapped his logo on it and sold them for $350+!!!!! He didnt even change one component! He has since appolgized blah blah blah blah but I still wouldnt support him.
Kudos!Yes, regrettably, that was me.
Admittedly, in the past, I made some poor decisions in the marketing and sale of the Axis Wah. I've done everything possible to learn from that mistake and make it right for my customers and dealers as quickly as possible - whether that is providing a full refund, a product exchange, or store credit as a redemption for their Axis Wah.
I've made this refund process very public and transparent and have listed every customer which requested a redemption of any kind - taking care of them in the order which they contacted us.
You can see this here: https://www.vertexeffects.com/redemption.
However, my other products, such as the Vertex Boost, is a completely original design that has been marketed and sold with absolute integrity and has a unique feature set and un-matched transparency and fidelity. It has been supported by many top artists in the industry like Robben Ford, Scott Henderson, Wayne Krantz, and many other who have openly come out in support of the me and the company's turn-around.
See Robben's open letter here: https://www.vertexeffects.com/robben-fo ... pen-letter
I appreciate your comment and I hope that you'll give the Vertex Boost a try for yourself and evaluate the sound and quality to let me know what you think.

Rather like Mr Ford's Blues, I find his enthusiasm unconvincing.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: Yay or Nay? (Corkniffers please be warned)
I dont think I quite understand?
So basically you dial in your amp and gat to get that sweet spot you love. Any boost or volume tweak etc would change the zen toan.... so in comes a mega super transparent boost pedal to keep your sweet spot intact whilst maintaining that toan that took you so long to find that sweet spot.... which is important when you sell your house to get a Dumble... you want the sweet spot toan to not be messed with.
I dunno, im too easily pleased for this level of things.

Pretty sure it has a price tag that you would be comfortable with. I'm quite surprised Mr.Ford didn't put you off though.Molly wrote:I'll buy one provided it's expensive enough.

Mr Ford puts me off Mr Ford. Not my cuppa at all. Anyway, I thought he'd binned his Dumble in favour of a Blues Cube fitted with one of his signature, obscenely expensive 'tone capsules'?Mini Forklift Ⓥ wrote:Pretty sure it has a price tag that you would be comfortable with. Me? Not really. I'm only interested in buying the very best. I'll have this pedal provided nobody else can afford it.telefiend wrote:He's trolling right?
